Get Ready for Corsairs – Battle of the Caribbean in 2024

The seas will soon be shakin’ as Microids announce the return of a beloved real-time strategy franchise. Corsairs – Battle of the Caribbean looks to set sail in 2024.

It’s been upwards of two decades since the strategy and piracy of Corsairs Gold released, as the 1999 PC hit provided players with the chance to take on the life of a privateer. It was that which had you serving England, France or Holland in search of riches.

The open seas of Corsairs – Battle of the Caribbean await

Corsairs – Battle of the Caribbean will come to Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PC and Nintendo Switch in 2024, continuing that Caribbean tale. Working similar real-time strategy moments as previous, this one will come with thrilling Campaign and Adventure modes, as well as a new Skirmish mode where players can challenge AI opponents in solo play or engage in online multiplayer with up to 4 players.

If it’s piratey adventures you are looking for, and if Sea of Thieves hasn’t given you the riches you need, then perhaps Corsairs – Battle of the Caribbean will. And if that doesn’t, then maybe Skull & Bones will eventually sail over the seven seas.

When Corsairs – Battle of the Caribbean does arrive, it’ll do so with new trading mechanics that will require players to carefully manage their fleet to navigate trade negotiations and defend their trading positions. You’ll also have the ability to upgrade ships and to work with a treasure map system. Meanwhile, an enhanced “Boarding” mode featuring multiple soldier classes and the participation of the Captain in battles, the game offers a deep immersive experience.

It looks set to deliver a thrilling journey through the turbulent waters of the Caribbean, as you go commanding a formidable fleet to engage enemy ships in combat. Explore the exotic islands of the Caribbean, unravel hidden treasures, and recruit skilled crew members to strengthen your naval forces. Compete for supremacy as you align with the French, Danish, Spanish, British, or Dutch factions.

Prepare to set sail

Corsairs holds a special place in both the genre and the history of Microids. We are dedicated to preserving its essence while introducing significant enhancements to revive this iconic franchise. We are thrilled to bring this experience to new players and to rekindle the excitement for the nostalgic fans who embarked on the Corsairs adventure two decades ago.” – Elliot Grassiano – COO & DGA of Microids

You’ll need to wait until 2024 before you can immerse yourself in the detailed and expansive open world of Corsairs – Battle of the Caribbean, yet as long as you are on Xbox, PlayStation, Switch or PC, you’ll soon be able to set sail on the ultimate pirate adventure.
