CoD Patch Notes For MW2 And Warzone Details Major Weapon Balancing, Including Signal 50 Nerf Play4ever

Activision is preparing for the live reveal of Modern Warfare 3 inside of Warzone, and a new update is available for preload. The update will be live for all players starting at 9 AM PST / 12 PM EST on August 17, and the patch notes reveal additional changes will include weapon balancing, a change to tuning in the Gunsmith, and more.

The main highlight of the update is preparing for the Modern Warfare 3 reveal. The event is called Shadow Siege and features several rewards for participating, including the brand-new M13C assault rifle.

According to the patch notes, the update includes quite a bit of weapon balancing that will only affect Warzone and DMZ. These changes include several buffs to assault rifles. The Chimera is getting an increase to mid damage, neck damage multiplier, and the upper torso damage multiplier. Season 5’s new FR Avancer assault rifle will get a nerf to maximum damage, but will also get buffs to close-mid damage, head and neck damage multipliers, and the upper and lower torso damage multipliers.

Season 5’s popular Signal 50 sniper rifle is getting nerfed. The update will decrease the neck damage multiplier and the upper torso damage multiplier for the sniper. Additionally, a few shotguns get buffs to damage and damage ranges, including the Expedite 12, Lockwood 300, and the MX Guardian.

The update will also make a change to weapon tuning in the Gunsmith, as the patch notes mention that the benefit of tuning for recoil control related stats has been slightly reduced.

For bug fixes, the update will correct an issue preventing some players from entering DMZ. It also fixes a DMZ issue where players could become stuck in an ATV near a UAV tower.
